Robbie Graduates!

The Directors at McGowan Miller are extremely proud that one of our trainees Robbie Ferguson recently graduated and obtained a BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying after a lot of hard work, dedication and support.

Robbie has gone through a four year long Graduate Apprentice training scheme with Glasgow Caledonian University. He is a great asset to McGowan Miller and a bright future lies ahead for him – Well done Robbie!

Changes at McGowan Miller!

We would like to announce that one of our Directors, Cameron Graham, has now retired after 40 years’ service with McGowan Miller Construction Consultants and formerly Kean, Kennedy & Partners, having joined as a trainee direct from school way back in 1983!

He will be available for a period of time going forwards to enable a smooth transition of current administration requirements and closing off / handing over ongoing project commitments.

We can confirm that senior surveyor Jonathan Waller will be heading up the Building Surveying department going forward. Jonathan has been working closely with Cameron for the last few years and is looking forward to continuing to provide a quality service to all existing and future Clients.

Cameron (aka Cammy) has (largely!) enjoyed his long career with us and he would like to thank all of the Clients, fellow professionals, Contractors and other contacts who he has met and dealt with over the years on a wide variety of projects.

He will be a great loss to the company and we wish him all the best going forward!

Stuart Takes a Step Back

Stuart Callander MRICS has worked with McGowan Miller since it’s inception in 1990 and before that with Kean Kennedy and Partners, as an apprentice. He progressed to Partner level in 1998 and then went on to become a Director when the company changed it’s structure. Stuart has been a major influence in developing the company during this time working in all aspects of the construction industry over the years.

Stuart has now decided that he wishes to take a step back and, as of, 1st May 2022 has become a Consultant with the company. Although, still involved with many projects, Stuart will be more flexible with his working hours and will gradually pass responsibilities on to other directors and staff.

The Directors and Staff are extremely grateful for the legacy that Stuart has built up. Stuart’s experience continues to be invaluable to the company and we are delighted he remains with us to help with further progression of the company.

MRICS Certified – Alan Thomson

We are proud to announce that, Alan Thomson, one of our Senior Surveyors has passed his Assessment of Professional Competence to become an MRICS accredited member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. Alan has been with the company for nearly 23 years and has worked hard to achieve this. Well done Alan!
